| Skills you will acquire |
At the completion of the four week programme the participants will:
- Be conversant in clinically relevant developments in anatomy, biomechanics, pathophysiology & pathoanatomy pertinent to sports injury management.
- Be conversant with current evidence and clinical reasoning processes with respect to Sports Physiotherapy management of a range of sports injuries.
- Be proficient in applying spinal and peripheral joint, neural, soft tissue and muscle examination procedures.
- Be proficient in determining a differential diagnosis based on an integrated examination of the joint, muscle and neural systems.
- Be able to formulate the most appropriate and effective Sports Physiotherapy management programme suitable for the assessed condition.
- Be proficient in applying an appropriate Sports Physiotherapy treatment strategy incorporating manual therapy treatment techniques, taping and sports specific exercise and rehabilitation programmes.
- Be proficient in formulating rehabilitation protocols for a variety of sports up to and including full return to sport at an elite level.
- Be conversant with current knowledge and protocols for on-field management of the injured athlete.
- Be conversant with current knowledge of strengthening and conditioning regimes for rehabilitation and return to sport.
